Work

Started the year teaching year one at UMG. It was a pleasure to teach my friends’ son and see him enjoy school. I have loved teaching at UMG and so when a job offer came up out of the blue it was a tough decision to take it. So for the next 8 months I’m working at Central Office in Student Services. My job is implementing policy around child safety.

Church

I did teaching program for Take One holiday program in June an then directed an SU camp in September. It was a cluster camp. This has been a passion for a while. The leadership team was amazing.

Holidays

I took 3 weeks long service leave and went to visit Nina in New Zealand. We did the Central Otago Rail Train bike ride. It was a great way to see the area. It was great to spend some time with Nina. I also caught up with some Malcolm & Rebecca who I taught with in Cambodia. They now have a cute son.

Family

Steve married Anne with year. Matthew started year 1 or was it year 2? Hannah has shot up and is no longer a little girl.

Dad got really sick and was flown home from PNG. Mum and I flew to Cairns to be with him. He’s doing well now.˙

Pete and Shelley brought Olive into the world. She is gorgeous, full of smiles and giggles! Harvey is full of chatter and clichés …altogether too adorable!

Personal

Have enjoyed Thursday night dinner and walking with a group of friends. Also enjoyed getting some friends together to bush walk at the start of the year. The group was called PEAK.

Have a new flatmate, Melissa, she is great. Has been a real blessing.
